John Thomas 'is also accused by the police of bearing the name of Dyson," under which name, and by similar pretences, he is alleged to have obtained possession of a farm and other items of property, about 18 months ago. John Thomas has large aspirations, and on the present ocoasion he has ordered two young bulls, has indulged m horse flesh, saddlery, land and house property. Detectives Jeffrey and Grace ran their man to earth at Howick. John Thomas, erstwhile of Cambridge, will, ■ however, have an opportunity of entering into a full explanation of these little episodes before Mr J3arstow, R.M., on Monday next.

The Bull-Cam Loro St_sp__.__.3on. — The following letter appears m yesterday'). ' Herald' : — "Please allow me space for a few remarks iv answer to a letter from Mr Peter Walker. As one of the judges at the late Cattle Show, 1 much regret the disappoin.ment felt by Mr • Walker that two of us were local men, but feel convinced he did not sutler on that account, as the beasts exhibited, so far as I am aware, were not knoAvn by. the judges. I, for one, cannot see that Mr Walker oould expect a prize for a white beast with a dark muzzle, and ordinarylooking head (though a good beast m other points), placed beside those he met at tho late Show. I think Mr Walker would do well not to place too much couJidence m remarks made by judges after a Show dinner. With reference to the Ayrshire bull, I wish to inform Mr Walker that his statement is not correct. Tho bull alluded to did not take a prize. — L am, &c, RonEiiT Bent. Waiuku, November li), 1878."
