Hamilton Rkcreation Gbouxd Hh' serves. — Tlio Now Zealand 'Gazette, published at Wellington, on Thursday, notifies that the following' lands have been temporarily reserved m the Provincial District of Auckland: — All that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement (32 acres, more or less, Hituated m the Parish of Te Rapa, m Hamilton Survey District, and being part of the land known as the Town Belt of Hamilton West, bounded towards the north by Palmerston-street, 2730 links : toward the oast by Anglesea-street, 1,169 links, and tho Waikato river ; toward the south, by allotment No. 224 of the Parish of Te Rapa, 2,279 links ; and toward the Avest, by the. Ohanpo Road, 1,127 links. In the same parish are, also, allotments reserved — of 28 acres, 35 acres, and 47 (lores; then, 168 acres m the Parish of Kirikiriroa, part of the land known as the Town Belt of Hamilton East. All these reserves are made for the purpose of a recreation ground. Mb R. R. Hukt, m another column, thanks those friends who voted for him m the recent election, and likewise expresses his satisfaction at having been enabled to separate the aheep from the goats. Anotheb Election will take place for. the return of two Councillors, for the Riding of Pukekura, to the Waipa County Council. The nomination is fixed for Saturday next, the 23rd mat., and the election will take place on Saturday, the 7th of December. The betubns for the Waikato County Ridings are now m. Mr James is the elected of Bangiriri ; Messrs Walker, Steele and Whyte are returned for Kirikiriroa. As our readers are aware Messrs Martyn, Kirkwood, and Fergusson had a walk over for Cambridge. The tender of Mr Ladnu for Mr E. Mibsen's hotel at Te Aroha was not, it seems, the lowest. The sum of £535 was mentioned m the telegram, but when the letter came to hand the amount was found to be £635. The next -lowest tender — that of Farrel Bros , £547 — was, therefore, accepted. — We understand that the tender of Mr Thorpe for Mr Cox' 8 new building m Hamilton has been accepted, and that the contract will be signed on Monday. The work will then be proceeded with forthwith. . Messbs J. D. & K. Hill will sell the Hamilton Town Hall to-day; alao, the grand-stand booth and luncheon-reom at the Ohaupo race-course, and will hold besides a large general sale of goods, land, horses, &c. The Whatawhxea Cattle Sale of Mr J. S. Bucklaud takes place on Tuesday next. Alexandba Races. — A meeting of those interested m the forthcoming races at Alexandra will be held this evening at the Alexandra Hotel. Hamilton Spobts. — A meeting, to arrange for the annual sports, will be held at the Koyal Hotel on Monday evening. A Committee Meeting of the ladies interested m the Hamilton Bazaar was held yesterday, when it was resolved to hold the Bazaar on the 27th, 28th and 29th, instead of the 28th, 29th and 30th inst. Those having contributions for the Bazaar, are requested to send them m at once.
