Fibth, at Matamata, under the following conditions, viz. : — The Land will be Cleared ready for Ploughing. Ploughing to be not less than four inches deep ; furrows to be clean cut and well turned over. To be well Harrowed three times. The proprietor will provide Harrows, together with pasture for Three Horses for each Double-furrow Plough or Set of Harrows worked. One extra Horse to each Team of three will be allowed to run at grass free. Grazing of every Horse beyond that allowance will be charged for. Ploughing mnst commence not later than December 1, 1878, and the work must be completed in a workmanlike manner to Mr CawkweU's satisfaction, not later than February 28, 1879. No Tender will be accepted for less than 250 Acres, and not less than two Doublefurrow Ploughs must be kept at work for each 250 Acres. Seventy-five per cent, will be paid as the work proceeds. Onehalf of each Contract mußt be finished before January 15, 1879 ; in default, the Contract will be terminated, and Re-let. If any Contract be not completed on February 28, 1879; ten per cent, of total amount of Contract will be forfeited. Mr Cawkwell will point out the ground. All Entries and Nominations to be sent in before 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, addressed to the Secretary Waikato Turf Club; Hamilton, enclosing fees, name, age, pedigree, color of horse, name of owner, and colors of rider. No entrance will be received on any pretence whatever after the time specified ; and all disputes to be settled by the Stewards, whose decision will be final. The Victorian Racing Club Rules, as adopted by tho Waikato Turf Club, will be strictly adhered, to. All protests during the Meeting 'must be accompanied with a deposit of 3 sovs, which will be liable to forfeiture to the Club should the Stewards consider the protests frivolous or vexatious. The Handicap for the Waikafeo Turf Club Hurdle Race will be declared immediately after the Cavalry Hurdle Race. First Race to start at 1 p.m. sharp. Ladies and Children admitted Fbbe to the Court.
