WAIKATO-AUCKLAND RAILWAY. —IMPORTANT TIME-TABLE ALTERATIONS.
Very important alterations are in* eluded m the time-table to be issued for the Auckland and Waikato railway for Norember— alterations that will conduce very much to the convenience of the country settlers, and doubtless considerably increase the passenger traffic on the line. Instead of the mid-day train from Auckland to Ohaupo leaving at a quarter-past one, as now, it will not lea re Auckland until a quarter.past four, thus enabling persons who hare gone up to Auckland by the early morning train to leave Auckland the sameday, having three hours m the midd.eof the day m which to transact their business. Another great hindrance to travelling was that though a person might get to Hamilton say, or Ohaupo at midday, by the luggage train at 4 p.m. or by the evening train he could not get back from Ohaupo or Hamilton till next morning. This will be remedied. A daily goods train will leave Mercer for Ohaupo at half-past six m the morning, arrivingatOhaupo about one hour before the midday np train leaves that station. Another taaia will leave still later, for tht goods train returns to Mercar at night, leaving Ohaupo at 6 p.m. Heretofore, country settlers along the line have been unabla to use the railway as a means of attending the Ohaupo Cattle Sales, 'for they could only get there when the sale waa about half over, and could not get away till the next morning. All this will be altered m the new regulations which for practical business-like sagacity betoken a new era m the Railway Department. We notice that m addition to the above, cattle trains will run north and sonth on Mondays, .Wednesdays, and Fridays,
