This afternoon a deputation, consisting of the Mayors of Wellington and Sydenham, and Messrs J. C. Brown, Thomson, and Murray waited on the Attorney General to urge that the amendments m the Municipal law recommonded by the late Municipal Conference should be embodied m the Munioipal Corporation Act Amendment Bill, now before Parliament. The Attorney- General promised to comply with the requisition. Mr Barton made a terrific onslaught on on the Judges m his speech m reply to Judge Richmond's letter. He made distinct and specific charges of the grossest misconduct and corruption. Mr Roliestou declared the speech an insult vo the House, as Mr Barton did nol conclude with any motion for the removal of the Judges. Mr Moss warmly defended Mr Barton. The discussion is still going on. After what has been said, it is almost impossible that things can be left as they are, m respect to the Judges.
