This afternoon, a meeting of suposed independent members was eld to consider the Railway Coutruction Bill. The meeting was on vened by Mr Murray, and there were present Messrs Murray, Turnbull, Montgomery, Wallis, Hodg, kiiison, Joyce, Feldwick, Olliver, Bryce, and Sannders. Home exception was taken to the extent of the powers granted by the Bill, especially the sub-sections of clauses 3rd. ' ' Mr Olliver stated that; he had seen Mr Macandrew on the subject, who had expressed the willingness of the Government to modify the provisions of the Bill so as to provide for annual appropriations for all railways. The meeting thought this would be satisfactory, and a deputation was appointed, consisting ot Messrs Mentgomery, Hodgkinson', and Wallis, to see Mr Macandrew. They interviewed him at once, and he confirmed what Mr Olliver had said, Sir George Grey has announced that Government hope to prorogue on Tuesday next.
