Waikato Times Office, Friday Evening. AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. MR. A. BUCKLAND'S WEEKLY REPORT. At the Haymarket, on Friday last, hides were, many of them, in indifferent condition, and consequently at low values; best qualities brought 3|d the lb. The sheepskins were unusually variable in quality,' a .large number selling from Is Id to 3s; good quality, 4s to 5s 4d each; long wool, in grease, brought from B{d to Bgd the lb. At Remuera, on Thursday, the dairy cattle were of indifferent quality, and low in condition, consequently dull of sale. Store cattle in full number. Grown stock, in fresh condition, maintained their valuo; other .kinds were slightly lower in price. Fat cattle were in full supply, 120 head being yarded; the greater number of good quality and heavy weight; prices were in favor of the buyers Small-sized, plump animals were at 365, but well-fatted, coarse cattle were below 30s, and the average of good fat cattle was 33s the 1 OOlbs. Store sheep in moderate number, and without alteration in, value; ewes and lambs brought from 10s to 17s 6dthe couple. Fat sheep were in fully supply, and of good quality—in their wool, 3£d; shorn, the lb. Lambs, short of requirements and better worth ; they sold freely at from 126 to 16s each. There has also been a good enquiry for dairy stock, but beef lacked animation, even at a decline of 5s per lOOlbs ; the prices given ranged from 30s to 38s per 1 OOlbs. We quote: Grown steers, from £6 10s to £9 2s 6d; eighteenmonth to two-year-oldsj. £4 10s to £5 7s 6d; dry cows, £5 7s Gd to £6 7s 6d; eighteen-month to two-year-old heifers, from £3 Ids to £5; calves, from £2 to £3; yearlings, from £3 to £4 2s Gd; dairy cows, from £0 15s to £ll 10s."—sheep: There has been an unusual supply, and there are large stocks on hand, consequently prices have declined 4s each. Lambs were plentiful, and sold at from 7s 6d to lis.
