WAIKATO STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY.

The annual general meeting of shareholders of the Waikato Steam Navigation and Goal Mining Co. (Limited) was held at the company's office, Fort street at 3 p.m. on the 30th September. The directors' report stated that the profit and loss account, after writing off £1016 14s lOd for depreciation, shewed a net profit of £2093 8a Bd, and recommended the payment of a dividend of £1 per share, being equal to 12 J per cent, on the paidup capital. The balance was to be carried forward to undivided profits. The directors also recommended the building of another steamer, the present steamboats being found insufficient for the requirements of the trade. The report and balanqe-sheet were adopted. Mr Franz richerff was re-elected a director; and the meeting closed.
