At .the-Haymarket, on Eriday,.hides m; lessithw ..usuaiXpumber, andj of a^light class ; prices ranged from 2^d to 3d per lb. Skin m good demand at full prices ; the greater number brought between 4s 6d and. 5s 6d each ; inferior, from Is od to 3s.— At Drury, on Wednesday, cows ranged from £6 to £9 ; calves, 40s to 635 ; 12 to 18-month-olds, 60s to 82s 6d ; 2to 3-year-olds, £0 10s to £6 each ; fat cattle, coarse quality, 35s the 1001bs.—AtRemuera, on Thursday (yesterday), dairy cattle were at late values, and not many yarded. Store cattle m usual number, with au improved inquiry, particularly if m forward condition. Fat cattle were m full numbers ; 140 hsad yarded, of better than average quality; bidding was brisk throughout, and last week's .values fully sustained ; a few of choice quality reached 50s the lOOlbs., and the average of" good cattle was 455. ' Store sheep were numerous, and those m poor condition were of low values, considering that -the 1 clip is at hand. Ewes and lambs, from 9s to 14s the couple ; hoggetts, 9s to 13s each. Fat sheep were m larger tnan usual' numbers, and lower m price fully lb ; 4d the lb was the ruling price. Lambs were penned m considerable numbers, and, if of moderate quality, were -'free of sale between. :,lo3,a (^d 14s.e ach. .Pigs were plentiful. There has been a decided improvement ':in^the c horse 'murketj. both as regards supply and demand. :) On .Friday,, Ignite an average number were entered for disposal by auction. The competition was good throughout, and, with two exceptions, those m were disposed of, and a few more good young draught and upstanding horses, suitable for coaching, could have been disposed of. We quote: Hacks, from £5 to £17 ; light harness horses, from £15 to £25 ; medium draught, £34. With regard to cattle, the improvement noted last week has been sustained. There has been a good supply and spirited demand. On Tuesday, the Newmarket Yards were well filled. With the excep : tion of dairy cews, the description was good. Fat beasts were scarcely so high m value as the previous week, although a few choice animals obtained the same rates. We quote : Beef, from 40s to 46s per lOOlbs ; yearlings, from 38s to 755 ; 1-i- and 2-year-old steers, from 80s to to £5 17s6d; 3-year-old steers, £6 to £7 15s; dry cows, 65s to £5 17s 6d; dairy cows, £6 10s to £13 ss.
