Tuesday. The House met at 2 o'clock. LANDS IN PIRONGIA. Mr McMinn asked the Native Minister, " If he will state the intention of the Government with regard to certain lands m the district of Pirongia, Waikato, purchased from Europeans and others by the late Native Minister, Sir Donald McLean, for the purpose of returning the said lands to the King natives." Mr Sheehan said it was perfectly true that a considerable are* of land was bought by Sir Donald McLean with the;ntention of handing it back to the King natives, but the present Government made up their mtuds they would not give the land back.
