Got by Tregeagle (imported), out {of Ordeal (imported), by Touchstone, out of Mrs Fowler, by Heron (sire of Fisher* man), ggd, by Muley, out of Sister to Pope, by Shu tie, &c. No better bred horse than Tregeaple (the Sire of War Eagle) has ever been imported to Australia, as his father, Wild Dayrell, is the sire of Buccaneer, Talk o' the Hills, Horror, &c, and grandslre of Kisber, Formosa, Pani Jones, and many other first-class Horses on tho English turf. His dam, Silver Hair, is equally celebrated, being the dam of Silvio, the winner of the English Derby. Ordeal (the dam of War Eagle), as her pedigree above shows, is equally as well bred as the sire. Her previous foal, Echo, ran a great horse m South Australia, winning many races, and was universally considered one of the best and grandest looking animals ever bred m Australia. War Eagle has a grand combination of the best strains of blood m the world, as a glance at his tabulated pedigree will testify, which, with the liberal terms at which his services are offered to the public, should strongly recommend him to the notice of breeders. Lord Derby (wben a colt), before leaving Victoria, gained a number of first prizes. He was bred by Mr A. Watson. Hlghbankhill, Kyneton. Got by Champion of Scotland, the winner of first prize at the Highland Society's Show, held at Edinburgh m 1869 ; he was also the winner several times of the Champion Gold Medal at the principal Annual Show m Victoria. As a sire he was unrivalled, as five of his stock' obtained at two National Showa prizes of the unprecedented sum of £195 6s Bd, four £30 Cups and four Medals. Lord Derby's dam, Princess Maud the 6 th. gained seven First Prizes ; her sire, Prince Charlie, was many years the Champion Horse of Victoria ; g dam, Priocesa Maud the 2nd gained many prizes at Port Philip and National Societies' Shows ; her sire, Sir Colin Campbell, gained first prize at Highland Society's Show, 1857 ; g g dam Prinoese Maud the Ist gained First Prize at Highland Society's Show, 1856, and hai gained First Prizes m Victoria, toe numerous to particularise.
