WOOL SALES.
LONDON, September 11. The wool sales attendance falls off with the progress of the sales. Prices shew a general 1 declension od the. previous quotations. The fall is most strongly marked m scoured and inferior greasy.
LONDON, September 12. [special to press agency.] A fearful colliery accident occured m Elbow Vale.- Three In.ndred men were killed. Eighty were rescued from the mine. ■ Fourteen horses ran for the St. Ledger. It was won by four lengths. BERLIN, September 12. The Imperial ,■ Department ol Justice is showing more toleration towards socialists. LONDON, September 12. The seat of the Duke of Abercorn, m South Wales, is injured by lire. Chester, Government agent, telegraphs that he crossed New Guinea, and found six rivers and a number of villages. The people are cannibals, but friendly. The country is fearful, covered with what is believed to be ebony.
