Cousins and Atkin, of Elliott-street, to a boy named Jeremiah O'Sullivan.who had been m the employ of the firm ten days only. The boy went beneath the large spoke machine, whilst going at great speed, to pull out some shavings, when he thoughtlessly raised his head, and wag caught by the knives of the machine and cut by fire of them, two taking greater effect than the others, literally cutting out a piece of the skull the size of a crown piece, with a i portion of the dura mater adhering to it. A cry was raised, and the workmen rushed to the assistance of the boy, who was bleeding considerably from the wounds. Medical assistance was Immediately sent for and Dr Kendeidine; who chanced to be m the vicinity of the factory, was immediately m attendance, and examined the boy's head, t king out two pieces of . bone. Eg a few moments, Drs Bayntun and Haines were m attendance, and, on the recommendation of the medical gentle-
men, the boy was at once sent to the Provincial Hospital, an' express being provided. Mr Cousins accompanied the patient.
