Kingfisher is a rich brown 8 years old, by Dainty Ariel, dam Fanny Fisher, by Fisherman—Coquette by Launcelot (own brother to Touchstone) ; Dainty Ariel by Riddlesworth—Althea ; JRi idles worth by Emilias. For further particulars, see Stndbook. Kingfisher is own brother to Hippooampus, and winner of Auckland Cup in 1876, beating Guy Fawkes, Arie', &c. Dainty Ariel started 18 times, and won 14 of his engagements ; and his stock are pronounced to be the best hacks and cross-country horses in the .North Island. Terms : £7 7s; half-bred mares, £4 4s. Got by Tregeagle (imported), out |of Ordeal (imported), by Touchstone, out of Mrs Fowler, by Heron (sire of Fisherman), ggd, by Muley, out of Sister to Pope, by Shu tie, &c. No better bred horse than Tregeaj le (the Sire of War- Eagle) has ever been imported to Australia, as his father, Wild Dayrell, is the sire of Buccaneer, Talk o' the Hills, Horror, &c, and grandsire of Kisber, Formosa, Paul Jones, and many other first-class Horses on tho English turf. His dam, Silver Hair, is equally celebrated, being the dam of Silvio, the winner of the English Derby. Ordeal (the dam of War Eagle), as her pedigree above shows, is equally as well bred as the sir?. Her previous foal, Echo, ran a great horse in Sjuth Australia, winning many races, and was universally considered one of the best and grandest looking animals ever bred in Australia. War Eagle has a gr«nd combination of the best straios of blood in the world, as a glance at his tabulated pedigree will testify, which, with the liberal terms at which his services are offered to the public, should strongly recommend him to the notice of breeders. Lord Derby (when a colt), before leaving Victoria, gained a number of first prizes. He was bred by Mr A. Watson, Highbanhhill, Kyneton. Got by Champion of Scotland, the winner of first prize at the Highland Society's Show, held at Edinburgh in 1869 ; he was also the winner several times of the Champion Gold Medal at the principal Annual Show in Victoria. As a sire be was unrivalled, as five of his stock obtained at two National Shows prizes of the unprecedented sum of £195 6s 83, four £3O Cups and four MedaK Lord Derby's dam, Princess Maud the 6th. gained Seven First Prizes ; her sire, Prince Charlie, was many years the Champion Horse of Victoria; g dam, Princess Maud the 2nd gained many priziß at Port Philip and National Societies' Shows; her sire, Sir Colin Campbell, gained first pr ze at Highland Society's Show, 1857 ; g g dam Princess Maud the Ist gained Firßt Prize at Highland Society's Show, 1856, and has gained First Przeß in Victoria, too numerous to particu'arise.
