fpp Hamilton , Station Road —The state of the>oad between Hamijton and the : railway station has again become something outrageous.:: time it is not the Borough whiph is, tot blame, but the Hamilton Highway District Board. The Borough portion of the road itf passably good, not so that portion which belongs: tothe road district from the station across.to-the corner by Mr cumbes house. Originally the portion of this road to be metalled was laid off far too narrow, arid' now it requires reforming to make anything like a good pisce of work at all. If drains were cut, the water, webeUeve,<Tnight tie-led away into the swamp, and then a properly formed road; with serviceable water tables on. either side might possibly be kept in decent repair, despite the heavy traffic. : The real remedy, however, is the bringing of the Railway into Hamilton. The iwhple.-ti.affiq, the jborough, but of the district, "focussett on this piece of road, is >a burden,, almost beyond the means of the ratepayers. The keeping the road open at all durinsr the preseiit winter has absorbed by far tqo -laro-e a proportion of the borough funds. Something, however, must be clone at once by the Hamilton District Board to thei*.ooHin»v * . f
