THE WAIPA COUNTY.
Sib, — Could you, through the medium of your valuable paper, tell me how it is that the member for the Waipa County has decided m favor of taking the County Act down, after distinctly promising us at his election that* -should he chang;e his mind m. favor of the Act, he wo old call a meeting of the electors to obtain their general opinion as to how he should act. Instead of fulfilling his promise, he attended a recent meeting of the County Board, and unexpectedly brought the movement forward ; it was earned. Now, if the majority of electors had known his intention, they would have made it their duty to be there, and I firmly believe it would have fallen through. I consider that the member for the Waipa County should, m all fairness, resign or keep his promises with Ms supporters. — I am, &c, An Original ootpobter. [We are not the keeper of the gentleman's conscience, whoever he may be. But who is "the member of the Waipa County ?" We had imagined there were seven. To which one does our correspondent allude?— Ed. W.O.]
