A PUBLIC MEETING of County Electors of the several Ridings proposing to unite under the Provisions of "The Counties let, 1875," for the Formation of a New County to be called the " Cambridge County," is hereby convened to be held at the Public Hall, at Cambridge, on Saturday, the 3rd prox., at 3 o'clock p.m. The Sub-Committee appointed at the Meeting held on the 2nd instant to conduct preliminaries, will then report its subsequent proceedings, and will exhibit the complete Memorial prepared for submission to His Excellency the Governor (signed by three-fifths of the number of duly qualified electors), also Maps shewing and text describing the boundaries. The area comprfsed within the boundaries of the New County is about 476,090 Acres, and it includes the whole of the Ridings of Tamahere (as at present constituted), Cambridge, Pukekura, Taotaoroa, and Patatere, with a limited portion of the South-western point of Matamata, With its Report thus to be made the duties entrusted to the Sub-Committee will terminate, and the business to be transacted at the Meeting now convened will be to determine upon, provide for, and to direct further action.
