Draft op By-Law No. 3, fob Re»ulatin» TnE Depasturing of Horses and Cattle cn the Waste Lands of the Borough : IT shall be lawful for any Ratepayer to depasture Horses and Cattle on the Waste Lands of the Borough between the hours of Sun-rise and Sun-set on payment of a fee of Five Shillings per head, per annum. The number of Cattle and Horses each Ratepayer is allowed to depasture shall be according to the following Scale, viz.: —Porsons liable for Rates amounting from 2s 6d to 10s, Two Head; ,over 10s and under 20s, Three Head; over 20s and under, 30s, Four Head; 30s and upwards, Five Head, being the limit of the number of animals, Cattle and Horses included. All. Persons depasturing' Cattle or Horses as above shall give the proper Description of the Marks, Brands, &c, of each animal. Any"* Person allowing Cattle or. Horses to be at large without proper guidance on the Streets or "Unenclosed of this Borough during the hours between Sunset and Sun-rise shall, on beirig convicted, bo liable to pay a penalty riot exceeding Five Pounds (£5).I. The area coinprfsed within the boundaries of the New County is. about 476,000 Acres, and it includes the whole of the Hidings of Tamabera (as at present constituted), Cambridge, Pukeknra, Taotaoroa, and Tatatere, with a limited portion of. the South-western point of Matamata.
