The "Waipa Election. — W« would draw attention to an alteration in the advertisement of the Returning Officer, whereby the day of nomination has been altered from the 20th to the 22nd instant. The School House, Paterangi has, also, been added to the list of polling places, and we are glad to see that the feelings of the German settlers at. Ohaupo hare been respected by the Government, and that the Public Hall has been substituted for the cattle yards as the polling place in that district. To make room for arrenm of matter, reports of meetings Sec, avo hold over our leading article, the Saturday's tale, and the letters of several correspondents. Mr McMinx was to have met the electors at Te Awamutu last night, but, though the Telegraph Office was ko.nt open till half -past ten, no further intelligence enme through than that fit a quarter-past nine a very few persons were present. Camubidge Volunteer Cavalry Trcop. A meeting of the members of the troop ' will be held to-day, at the Volunteer H»U, at 4 p.in.

The Narrows Bridge committee a?e summqned for important business, to a meeting to bo hold at 6 p.m. to-day, tit Gwynne's Hotel. A meeting of the subscribers to the Cambridge and Piako road, and of those interested in it, is convened for tho '26th inst., at Walker's National Hotel. Ti'.npkrs for working the Te Rore Ferry, from the Ist proximo to tho 31st July, 1879, will bo rcooived by the Chairman of theParongi Highway Board, up to the 27th inst. Mb F. A. Whttakeb will meet the electors at Pukerimu immediately after the annual meeting of the ratepayers, to be held this day at 2 p.m., at the schoolhouse, and at Burke's Hotel, Ohaupo,, on Monday evening. 'I he Specifications for the traffic bridge at Hamilton provide that the work shall be completed within fifteen months of signing the contract ; tho bond to be £1000, and the penalty for delay £30 per week. The Rev. Father Castagnou, who has been stationed for some years at the Thames, is leaving that place, and will probably go to New South "Wales. He will be succeeded by Rev. Father O'Reilly, of Coromandel. Highway Distbict meeting. — The annual meeting of the ratepayers, for the election of officers &c, will be held as follows :— Saturday, the 27th inst; for the following- districts, namely, Rangiaohia, Mangapiko, Pirongia, and Tuhikaramea. On tho 26th inst, Cambridge; on the 2oth, Tamahere; on tho 20th inst, Waitoa; and on the 18th inst., Kirikiriroa. '
