Waizato Times Office, Wednesday Evening
Mr J. S. Buckland's Waikato monthly live stock report — -At the Cambridge Horse Sale, held on the 22nd June, there were a large muster of horses entered, they were of an indifferent stamp and realised like, prices ; small riding horses brought from £3 10s to £9 ; plongh horses, £10 10s to £18 each. No good hacks or draught stock entered. At the Cambridge Cattle Sale, held m the last Tuesday m Jnne, there was but a small muster of Oattle and sheep, which sold at fair prices. No stores yarded. 3Fat cattle brought about 28s the 1001 b.
At the Whatawhata Cattle sale, held on Tuesday, 2nd July, on account of the bad weather there were not so many cattle mustered as was expected ; buy ers were numerous and competition for a H classes was keen ; 79. head were yarded and 76 head were sold at the following prices :— Calves, from 30s to 41s ; yearlings, 57s 6d to 70s ; store cows £8 2s 6d to £4 12s 6d ; grown steers, £5 10s to £7 each.
At the Ohaupo Cattle Sale, held on Tuesday, 9th July, there was a much smaller muster of cattle than usual, 54 head only yarded. They were, with the exception of 14 head, all beef cattle, and sold prom £7 to £9 10 each' being about '27s Gd to 30s the 1001 b. Seven pens of sheep were sold at 2kl per lb.
