This .Mr Whitaker stated had no foundation in fact whatever, He hud already declare,] at every placa he, had met the Waipa electors he was prepared to support the policy of the present Government. The gentiemau who had taken upon himself to inform the electors of Raglan Miid Ruapnke districts of his political opinions was an utter stranger to him. He had never, to his knowledge, seen him or spoken to him in l»is life, and he thought it a most extraordinary thing how such an utter stranger should be so audacious as take upon himself to make any statements regarding- his policy without any previous knowledge whatever.—Mi- Wliitaker's address was well received. Mr McMinn was also favorably received by the electors, he also to a certain extent recapitulated whahas already appeared in your columns, which he explained was quite unavoidable. Both candidates were questioned by the electors at the the conclusion of their address, and most satisfactorily answered. A vote. of thanks to both candidates was unanimously passed for their attendance, and a vote oi thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings. In tho evening a ball took place in the hall, where all the youth and beauty, as well as the paters of Raglan;and both candidates attended. As it was Saturday night, 12 o'clock brought the reunion to a conclusion. — From a Correspondent.
