At auction, on Friday* above the average number were entered. Competition was good. Lots wer,e cleared at fully the previous week's rate. Cattle : Ihere was considerable animation. Dairy and store stock weie in improved demand, but the supply of the latter was limited. At Newmarket on Tuesday, fat beasts were in average numbers, and a few more could have been disposed of at satisfactory prices* A druit from ivir Clark, of Karaku, obtained the highest average — £12 ss. We quote : Calves, £1 10s to £2 ; yearlings, £2 10s to £3 7s Gd ; grown steers, JLo Us to £6 17s Gd. Beef, 29s to 32s per lOOlbs. Sheep Avere in full supply, and last week's prices were scarcely maintained.

SALE OF OHAUPO TOWNSHIP.

Messrs J. D. & E. Hill offered the allotments on Tuesday, notwithstanding the inclemency of the Aveather. The attendance was good, the bidding spirited, and the prices obtained Avere satisfactory to the vendor. The \ - acre sections brought from £10 to £52 each, the average being over £o0 per acre.
