CONCEENING-RATS
Sir, — In your report of the meeting of the Cambridge Farmers' Club on Mond y last, one of the members (Mr 11. H". D. Fergusson,) " who spoke for himself only" accuses me of neglecting uiy duty, and treating him with impertinence. The first charge T most positively deny. Seeing the tent bitten m two or three places I deemed it advisable to further the interests of Mr Fergusson by refusing to take delivery and returned it by the same steamer to be repaired or replaced — (Mr Fcrgusson did not see the tent). To the second charge I am not aware of any impertinence, if so it was quite unintentionalfon my part, and of course I am sorry and tender him an apology, , though it is just possible the threats, &c, I had to meet, especially the &c., caused me to depict on my coutenance what words could not utter, and I would respectfully inform him that a more gentlemanlike demeanour on Jiis part would meefc with, more respect though not more attention on mine. — I am &c, Georgp J. Neal. Cambridge June 14th, 1878.
