We have been requested to publish the following correspondence : —

' . [copy.] Te Awamutu Public Hall, May 30, 1878. To Thomas Gresham, Esq., Secretary, Sir George Grey Banquet Committee. Dear Sir, — I am instructed by the Trustees of the Te Awamutu Public Hall to request you to inform me whether it is the rutcntion of the Banquet Committee to settle the enclosed account. It is the opinion of the Trustees that the Hall having been taken possession of by the Committee, it is to the Committee the Trustees must look for the payment of the account. — Yours respectfully, J. H. Maxdeno— Secretary and Treasurer, Te Awamutu Public Hall.

Te Awamutu, June 12th, 1878. Dear Sir, — I would have replied ere this to your letter of the 30th ultimo, but before doing; so I had to consult with my Committee. I have now the pleasure to inform you that it is not the intention of ttfe. Banquet Committee to pay your charge of one pound (1;6) for the use of the Public Hall on the occasion of the visit of the Premier and Minister.? to Te Awamutu on the 10th of April last. — Yours respectfully, Thomas Gbeshaji, Hon. Secretary Banquet Committee. To John H. Mandeno, Esq., Te Awamutu.
