WESTERN WAIKATO PRESBYTERIAN MEEITNG.
A meeting of the collectors, appointed to canvass the district for subscriptions for building a manse at Te Awamutu, was held on Saturday. There were present :— Messrs Wright, Kay, Macky, Ramsay, McNicol, Hodgson, Ross, Thomson, Germann, Blaih, and Gilford. On the motion of Mr Macky, seconded by Mr Kay,, Mr' Wright was voted to the chair. After the minutes of the meeting of May 1 1 were read' and confirmed, the Chairman stated that the business of this meeting was to. receive the report of the Collecting Committee, which , was as ; follows: — Patorangi, £60 lis*, Rangiaohia, £30 18s; IV Awamutu, £34 45 .;. Kihikilii, £1S ; Te Rahu. and Qhaupo Road, £21 ; Ohaupo, ,£l7 6s ; Harapipi, £s—making5 — making a total of £IS6 19s. On the rei>ort being read, the Chairman said that it was for the members of Committee present to .say; if the work should be gone on with. After some consideration, m which the greatest satisfaction was expressed regarding the manner m which the call for subscriptions had been answered, it was moved, seconded, and carried unanimously — (1) " That a manse be built at Te Awamutu at a cost not exceeding £300 ;" (2) " That the collectors be a committee to proceed with building the manse ;" (3) "That Mr White, of Hamilton, be requested to furnish plans and estimates of buildings, suitable for a manse, of not less than six rooms, Mr Kay to communicate with the architect." The meeting then adjourned to. meet at the Te Awamutu Public Hall on Saturday, June 29, at 3 p.m., to consider the plans and estimates submitted, and to elect a building committee.
