The Piako Road. — We are glad to hear tliat Mr Coletnalii the contractor for the formation of a portion of the road between Hamilton • and Waitoa, at Black-' more's Gully, is malting good progress with the work. When this portion of the road is made good, thoro will be an excellent highway to Piako. Meantime, we would warn travellers riding past the works at night to be careful, as the cuttings m their present state are somewhat dangerous. iTu Tawhiao's party have returned to Alexandra.
