DIIUNKENNESS. John Haylifct waa charged witli drunkenness, and forfeited his bail.
EJECTMENT.
John Knox, as agent for the trustees of Maria I?. Knox applied for a power of ejectment against John James Howe, blacksmith, and recovery of £10.
Plaintiff stated that he gave notice to defendant to surrender the premises on the 27th cf April. He had not done so or paid the rent now due.
The Court ruled th.it possession must bo given to plaintiff by noon of next day, and that defendant must pay the £10 claimed and costs 235. DOX TAX. McPhearson v. Clare. Ike defendant did not appear. The parties m this case wereJCaptain McPhearson, clerk Waikato County Council, and Major Clare, chairman, Cambridge District Board, the complaint fiat defendant was guilty of a breach of section 2, clause *7, of tho Counties Act Amendment Act. Mr Hay appeared for the plaintiff. Plaintiff stated that he was instructed to obtain information from the chairman of tho Cambridge N.H.D. Board of the amount of dog taxes collected and the expenses connected with the same. — Wrote to him on. subject on April ,13th, and subsequently bat received no. reply. The information I demanded from Major Clar» is necessary to enable the Counties Act to be carried out by the Council. The dog tax ig County funds.
