PREPARATIONS FOR THE MEETING. (from our own correspondent.) Yesterday. Last night was bitterly cold here. Yesterday there was a taugi amongst the old women and natives generally. They nre making theaaselves as comfortable as possible under the circumstances Every house, large as they are, is full up as well as " canvass town," which is of good size. Natives are continually arriving, and all are "wondering what has become of Sir Geo. Grey and Mr Sheehan. Rewi, Wahanui, and Taonui, with their followers, are at Kopua. They decline putting m an appearance here uutil the arrival of the Qovevnmeut party. [The above has reached us, via Te Awamutu, by electric telegraph.]
