The • New Zealand Gazette,' of the 18th April, contains the traffic returns of the Auckland railways for tho four weeks ending the Oth March. The returns for the Auckland (that is the Auckland Waikato) section are as follows : — £ s d Passengers (0,940), parcels, ka . . 1,775 13 0 Goods (2,445 tons and live stock 1,488 18 10 Wharf dues 100 17 G Total revenue . . £3,365 9 4 Corresponding period (last year) 1,625 4 6 Increase £1,740 5 2 It will be remembered that the proceeding month showed an increase of something over 50 per cent on that of . a corresponding period last year. In the returns now published we find a still larger corresponding increase namely, more than cent, p^r cent.
