The contributions have been large, but the liabilities are considerable. The building of a parsonage, painting and. improving the church, and the purchase of lamps, cost of : lighting, .. and Sunday-scnool expenses, have made heavy calls' upon' the liberality of church members. At a meeting, held on Monday, April 1, presided over by the Bishop, the question of renting the seats was brought forward, and, although two-thirds of the church members present wore in favor of so doing, it was thought better to postpone it for a time]' It Was decided' to borrow £130 from, tbe Standing Committee, to pay for the . additions to.' the parsonage, which are now being ; made— the sum to be paid off in five years. ■ It . was. resolved to hold a social gathering '.and concert on Friday, "May 10; .The clergyman, Col. Lyons, Messrs Fergusson, 1 Williams, Chitty, Ashwell, and Roper, were appointed a committee to make the necessary arrangements. The proceeds of the entertainment are to go to the Parsonage Fund. Arrangements are, also; being made for holding a gift auction, in October next, to raise funds for the same purpose. As it was omitted, at the annual meeting in January last, to elect auditors, Messrs Williams .and. Chitty were appointed to audit account! for the present year.
