LETTER FROM TE KOOT.
The following is the translation of a letter addressed by To Kooti to jibe Opotiki and other East Coast $sfatives }•— Te Kuiti, February 20, 1878. To Opotiki, to Omarumutu, and others, — Come hither, and go this loving letter of mine to the Whokatohea, &c. 0, ye old men, ye old women, ye young men and maidens. Greeting to all of you who are continually loved by me through day and night, month and year. The tribes, long life to you ! Ended is the greeting. Now is tho word. Friends, let anger, suspicion, and division of purpose be put aside ; let love be tied to your ngeks : tie 8 together., elo.the yourself in fftodness, that i-he loving liindftpss of ourlaker may rest on us for ever and over.
