INCOMPLETE LAND PURCHASE IN THIS NORTH ISLAND. Section IS— For the purpose of Completing the negotiations now pending for the purchase of certain Native Lands m the Native Land District of the Thames, ife is hereby enacted that a certain notice by the Governor, dated the fifteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, and published m the New Zealand Gazette under the provisions of the 42ud section of "The immigration and Public Work 3 Act, 1871," shall continue m full operation and effect as to all lands affected .by the said notice m respect of the purchase of which money has been 'paid on behalf of Her iV 1 ajeßty until the completion of the said purchase, and whether such lands or any of them were or were not passed through the Native Lands Court previous to the publication of the aforesaid notice.

A PROCLAMATION.
Whereas by "The Immigration and Public Works Act Amendment Act, 187'," the Governor is, among other things, empowered to enter iuto arrangements for the acquisition of particu'ar portions of land m the North Island, for the purpose of mining for gold, for the establishment of special settlements, or for tbe purpose of railway construction : And by the said. Act it is also provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever be shall have determined to enter into negotiations for the purchase of t-uch land, to insert a notice m the Neio Zealand Gazette that it is his intention to enter into such negotations, and after such notice is inserted it shall not be j awful for anyone to pnrchase or acquire from the Native owners any right, title or interest, or contract* for the purchase or acqusition from the Native owners of any right, title, cr interest, m tbe lands specified m such notice unless the no'ics be cancelled by the Governor: Provided that such notice shall have lonper operation than for thsj period of two years. Now, therefore, I, Sir James Furgusson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, m pursuance of the provisions of tbe hereinbefore m part recited Act. and exercise of the the power hereby vested m me, do hereby give notics that it is my intention forthwith to enter into negotiations for the purchase from the Native ownets of the block or parcel of land Bituated m the province of Auckland, and described m the schedule hereto.
SHEDULE. Commencing at Pukorokoro, on the western shore of the Frith of the Thames, hence by the eastern boundary of the lands comprising the District of Waikato, as taken under the "New Zealand Settlement Act," to tbe north-west angle »f the Hangawera Block, thence by the northern boundary of Hangawera Block, the western and northern boundaries of the Awaroa block, and the northern boundary of tho Mangakahika Block to the River Piako ; thence by that river to the junction of the Waikarakeke Stream; thence by that stream to the Waibongi Block ; thence by the northern boundaries of the Waihongi and Kahia Blocks to the Biver Waitea; thence by that river to the Uruhau Block ; thence by the eastern boundaries of the Uruhau and Matamata Blocks to the Wharetangata Block ; thence by the northern boundary of the Wharetangata Block to the Turangamoana Block ; thence by the western boundary of the Taurangamoana Block of the River Waihou, -thence southward by that river to the junction of the Ora Stream ; thence by a line due east to tho western boundary of the l»nds comprising the District of Tauranga as taken under the " New Zealand Settlement Act ;" thence by the boundary to tbe summit of Te iroha Mountain ; thence by the northern boundary of the aforesaid District of Tauranga to the NgaKuri-;-Whare, on the coast of Bay of Plenty ; thence by tbe Vlast Coast cf the North Island of Mew Zea. land to Cape Colville- thence by the shores of the Frith of Thames, or Hauraki Gulf to tbe point of commencement at Pukorokoro aforesaid. Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir James Fer&usson, Baroneh, a member of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Governor and Commander-in-Chief m and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies* and Vice-Admi-rax t-t the same ; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this lifteetuh day of October, m the year of our Lo'd one thousand '- eight but dred and seventy -four.
