THE TAUPIRI CONCERT.
March loth,. 1678. The concert which took place last night at Taupiri was m all respects as successful as its promoters expected, and they. fully deserved such success. The local talent, which, by the "way, is rather conspicious for so small a place, sustained its good, name with effect. The nigger portion o£ the establishment was quite a treat. It must be borne m mind that the " Nigger Troop " is a recent formation up the Mangawara creek m Mr Roy croft's camp. Composed of various talents and nationalities, they sometimes constitute thenselves into a debating club, and are considered as " SAvampers," "niggers," or "debaters," it is right to record that they do high honor to their master and their camp. The Moon, according to promise and announcement, was m fine condition, and at a late hour at night withdrew, with apparent reluctance, behind the Taupiri ranges. — CoeeesPONDENT.
