ERGOT IN RYE.

Sißj — In your valuable paper I have read many very able articles on the ergot m ry© as it is called. Now I think the term ' is rather misleading to those young farmers (that is m experience if not m years), many of whom are now starting farming life m Waikato, and I think if those who are tetter able (if not so ready) would give their experience of this source of loss to many who do not understand its dangerous nature much good would be effected. Ergot is now very prevalent m cocksfoot as well as m rye grass, owing, no doubt, to the humidity of the setißon.— I am, &c, Faiufield. March 12th, 1878.
