AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.

KB ALFBKD BTJOKLAND'B WEEKLY BBPOBT. At Remuera, on Thursday, 1 dairy cattle were fairly represented and m moderate inquiry. They brought from 458 10/ to £10 10/ each. Store cattle were more plentiful than usual, with a »teady demand at fully late values. Fat cattle, m less than average number: 107 head yarded; prices, from 24/ to 27/ the lOOlbs. Last wteks prices were barely sustained. Store sheep and lambs, m better enqniry. Fat sheep, m less than usual number, but with no improvement m value, from /2£ to /2f the lb. Averages obtained were : — 39 head mixed sexes, Hugh Knox, £85/6; 11 steera, Elliott and Bayly, £8 17/; 8 cows, A. Kay, £6 6/; 16 steers, C. J. Storey, £9 1/6. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, about an average number of dairy cowe were yarded, and an ample number of fat beasts, but stores were very poorly represented. Dairy cowa were m request, but were not of a very good description. There was an ample supply of fat beasts, and of very fine quality, but bidding lacked spirit, and there was a slightly downward temdencv, particularly for heavy, weight* — •mall, well-fatiad cattle gelling, relatively, nraoh tatter We qu«te :— Dairy cowi, £7 10/ to £10 fi/; weaned calves, from 367 to 60/ ; y«*rlimg§, 60/ to 66/; two-year-old steers, from 76/ to 87/6; three-year-old steers, from £5 to £6 12/6; fat cattle, 26/ to 27/6 par lOOlbs. Ther« was a large supply of, and steady demand for sheep, but last week's rates were barely sustained. For wethers, 1/8 to 1/10 per 81bs was given ; ewes, 1/6 to 1/8.
