The following has bsen communicated to us by the Chairman of the. Alexandra School Committee : .. A combined meeting of th£ Chairmen of varions school committees was held at Alexandra on Monday, the' 21st insfei, at 3 p.m., convened for the purpose of nominating two persons for election to the Board of Education. j There waa. a . good . attendance, other . members of . .-? chool , Committees attending besides Uhairmen. The Chairman (Mr Aubin) having explained the business of the meeting, some discussion took place asftoT the m rits of several candidates proposed, when it was unanioiusly carried :■ — « Th-. t Col. Haultain and Mr Ed. McMinh be the nominees to represent the Waikato District at the Board of Education." " That the Chairman be requested to have the minutes of this meeting published m the columns of the Waikato Timksj that through its medium other committees m the vV'aikato and Waipa Counties who had not been summoned to attend this mee ring, through shortness of i time, may see what we have done, and be desired to co-operate with us , m leturning the two above named gentlemen " I I need scarcely men' ion th»t Col. !
