Waixato Times Office, j Wednesday evening, Mb. Alfred Bucxland reports:—At the cattle sale held on .Tuesday, Bth January, there was an unusually large number-of stook of all descriptions brought forward, and were nearly all sold at satisfactory prices. More than the average number of fat stock were disposed of, and at an advance in price of fully 4s the lOOlbs. 335 head of stores were yarded, and, with the exception of 24: head, were sold at the auction. Several pens of sheep were sold at 9s each for two-tooth withers, and 6s and 7s for lambs. 12 horses were entered, and all sold at prices varying from JB4 to £27 10s. At the Sheep Fair, held at Ohaupo yesterday, there were 3,300 sheep penned. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was spirited throughout the sale. A few pens of half-bred ewes in low condition, and also several pens of Lincoln rama were withdrawn from the auction, but nearly everything else catalogued was sold at the following prices:— Aged Lincoln ewes, 6s to lis 3d; aged half-bred ewes, 3s-3d to'ss; two-tooth Lincoln ewes, 28s 6d; four and six-tooth Lincoln ewes, 17s to 19s; two and fourtooth half-bred ewes and wethers, 9s 6d to lis 3d; wether lambs, 6a 3d to 10s; ewe lambs, 6s to 12s 6d. 40 two-tooth Lincoln rams sold at an average of £4 15s each.
