' Horses.— The supply has been good, and there has also boon an improvement m the demand, particularly for hacks and lijrht-harness horses. We quote hacks from £6 to £H ; light-harness horses, from £12 to £20 10s. . The holidays have, as usual, materially affected the "cattle market. We held our Newmarket sale on Wednesday morning, and a limited number were yarded. Very few other than fat beasts were disposed of, but prices were firm at last week's quotations. Sheep were yarded m excess of requirements, and seven lots were withdrawn, Is 8d per 8 lbs not being acceptable to vendors. Lambs were m adequate supply, and met corresponding demand at from 8b 6d to 13s each.
