The ; following copy of a letter, re ceived by the Chairman of the Kan if iaohia Road Board, m reply to at a peal for the readjustmont of tht representation of the ridings m th» Waipa County Council, by gW ing a second councillor to Ban giaohin, has been handed to us foi publicauion :— "Colonial Socretary's Office, "Welliugton, N.Z., "Dec. 4, 1877. 11 Sir,— l have the honor to ac knowledge' the receipt of yotit letter of the 20th November, requesting the Government to cause a second counoillor for the Rangiaohia Riding to be appointed, and m reply am directed by the Colonial Secretary to express the regret ol the Government that they are no> m a position to enable them to comply with your desire m the matter.
