Auckland, last night. Mr Firth received news from the Puuiu River, in the Kiug Country, where he deposited 40,000 ova, to the effnot that, two days after his departure the ova began to hatch and that the fi.sh were swarming iu thousands. Scarcely one dead egg was discovered. The natives are greatly pleased with the success o: the experiment so'f ,r, and keep constant waichovor the young fry to prevent the incursions of eels, also to see that no damage is caused by sudden rises in the river. The Masonic Installation Committee are making great preparation for the installation of brothers Whiiaker and Graham. A deputation is appointed to receive Brother Lazar.
