Government Buildings, Wellington, yesterday. The whole of last night was spent in committee on the Land Bill. The Canterbury run clauses were
carried by a large majority, giving ten years extension of tenure. ' The Financial Statement is .proposed for Monday, and the Native affairs statement for to-morrow, Mr Sheehan's tJiroijC. being too bad to day to enable him to aueikk. . Several members of the Opposition say they will aid no further party attacks, but this may ' be a blind. Rumour has it that Mr Statturd is likely to replace Major : Atkinson as leader, and make a final attempt. The want of confi deuce motion is ho^lessly far down on the order paper. ; i
