Auckland, last night. At a meeting of the creditors of Malcolm Niccol, the liabilities were set down a t £15,000. An offer of 5s m the £ was made. The meeting adjourned for an examination of the books. The Hon. Saul Samuels, late Postmaster-General of New South. Wales, married the driest daughter of Mr Edward Kuc-i, of Auckland. The wedding was a brilliant aff-iir. A successful meeting- was held today for the purpose of starting another club similar to the Northern. Nal'iek, iast night. A sad suicide occurred at Ormond, Poverty Buy. The victim was a young woman, ag-ed 20, named Bella Kissild, whose husbanu had deserted her. She went out as a servant at the Ghandos Hotel, Ormond. In this establishment, unfortunately, thete was a barman, to whom she became attached. On Wednesday last the infatuate:! couple quarrelled, and Mrs Rissild declared her determination to put an end to her exis tence rather than live a life of unhappiness with him. Q Q t Ue evening of the day of the quarrel, she was observed to leave the hotel aucl go m the direction of Waipawa liiver. On the following morning, the body was found m water only five feet deep.
