PERSONAL.

I'he Waikato Tdiks appears today in an enlarged form. For some little time pnst it had heaoniQ apparent that a change most he made on the part of this journal to meet the daily increasing requirements of a district so rapidly ndvuicingin material prosperity as is that of the Waikato. Advertisements have, encroached upon reading matter until issue after issue we have been compelled to hold over the letters ot correspondents, reports of meetings, and original editorial matter, and subjects of importance have remained undiscussed which otherwise would have received a fuller attention in our editorial and correspondence columns. It is with unfeigned pleasure we congratulate our readers on the cause which has occasioned this change, and the continuation of which will ere long necessitate renewed efforts on the part of this journal. Nor shall Ve be found -backward in hastening on -to the fullest of our power this condition of things.. The ' Times', as heretofore, will be found leading in the van of progress, ever ready to advocate the local interests of the district, yet taking a brOnd and liberal view of questions affecting the community as a whole. That it has acquitted itself in some small measure faithfully in its daty to the public is amply testified by the generous and cqrdial support which has been accoj cled to it from one end of the district to the other, a support for which we take the present occasion to heartily thank the people of I Waikato.
