The convoy was attacked by fifteen battalions of Russian infantry and three regiments of cavalry, but, according to a Turkish account, the attacking force was defeated. Twenty thousand Turks have been sacrificed in the various attempts to take the Shipka Pass. THE TURKS CROSS THE DANUBE. Bombay, Sept 26.
