Alfred Buokland reports : At the Cambridge cattle sa c held ou Tuesday, 25th | Sep* ember, there was only a small muster of cattle, and most of those were of in-niff-roit quality ; 70 bead only wee 5 a- ded, 25 of wbch were withdrawn from the auciion. Tlose sold realised lower priceß by at least 10s a head than at late sules m the Waika. >- Tbe hurdles advertised were sold at 4a 9d e*icb. At the cattle lair, on Wednesday, more stock were were brought forward th* catalogued, and above 1.400 heal sold, and 40 withdrawn. Piices were van equable throughout the s le. Young cattle were m less number compared with grown stock, than lasr year, and sold at relatively lower valaes. Female^ Btock were also m limited uumher, and not many of good quality yarded ; for those there were keen omp< tition, but inferior bred cows and heifers were at lower values than usual. The dec lption of Htoc-k m b.at r* quest were welt bred bteers from 3 to 4 years, and a few pens of choice quality, m fresh condition, sold a extreme values, ror young bttlla there was a good inquiry, and those showing quality of breeding were fairly competed t r, but no very choice anima s were yarded.
