[From Our Special Correspondent.] Government EDUCATION" BILLi Last night was spent over the Education Bill and Education Reserves Bill. There were long use less discussions over the third reading, the passing, and the title of the former. The third reading was carried by 43 to 16. The Education Reserves Bill proposes to ve3t in trustees the reserves of each provincial district, the proceeds to be from time to time divided between the educational subdivisions in proportion to population. I j passed the second reading, and was referred to the Waste Lands Committee. THE OPPOSIiIOtf AND GO VERNMENT JOIN ISSUE. To-day after some important questions were asked, Mr Rees' motion relating to the ' Waka Maori,' was discharged, and Mr Larnach gave notice to move "That the Housu disapproves of the action of the Go verument in continuing to publish the < Waka Maori ' newspaper at the public expense in deflince of a vote of the House, and in allowing its columns to be used for the publication of libellous matter. Mr Whitaker said the Government ac* cepted this as a want of confidence motion, and moved the adjournment of the House till to-morrow. The division will be very close. There are six doubtful votes which each side is working hard to seaure.
