September 20 th The concert last night in aid of the funds of rit Joseph's Catholio Church was well attended, the room beiug comfortably full. Mrs Duffua, with her usual kiuuneßs and ability presided at the piano forte, but whether on account|of the postponement I cannot say, but the other lady .amatuers who usually enliven and adorn our performances, were ouly conspicuous by their absence on this occasion.,.^- s In the fixst part, the • trio, 'Lightly Tread,' was capitally rendered ; song, Mr a. Prince, •Pic-nic party,'was also well received; a character B*»ng, • The Grecian bend,' caused lota of laugtter and receivtd au encore, which, was muse wiiliugly responded to; «The slave ship,' by Mr Carl, on, was sung with force and expression ; song, ' Come birdie come,' Mr Garlaud, was sang with great tas e and feeiiug.
