Sib,— The ladies of this looality, including myself, feel very much displeased with you, for the undignified remarks you passed on ' A Spinster,' m your last Saturdays issue. Indeed, Mr Editor, y<ur temper must, have been m a very un-uniform state while you were writing that footnote. At fiwt you a emed to sympathize with that high spirited lady (A hpinster), and very kindly suggest that one of the volunteers should take her to himself, and make her a Mrs Cavalaryman. But then, on the same moment, your temper seemed to oontrol your reason, and m your ,fury call's her a liontss, that should be put out of the way. Indeed, I thought 'A Spiaster,' and ladiee m general, might expect moe gallantry from the Editor of tbe WAiSAro Times. But, no doubt, predileotiou for martial ardour on the momeit mado you forget the attention and kindness ttat a lady invariably should leueive from a Cavalier. Now the last sentance m j< ur note is a a reul pvzEie, you say if the cavalry disband, it is net such an ' Spinster' tbat m likely to take the place of better men. This, indeed, i< a crowding poser, and seetna really hard for any person to understand its meaning, <-r could you have iumeined h> p< s&ib c. that at the *ound of a bugle, that spin--8te«8 might be seen dressed m cavalry I n.pjfyrnj, fiyins Uo\s »U parts of tb,©

Some folks say jour ri marks were ironiv eal, the way editors generally express themselves when they want to poke fun at old bachelors.
