To His Excellency The most Honourable The Marquis op Normanby, &c, Ac. Governor of New Zealand. THE Petition of us the undersigned resident householders of Township Highway Districts of Hamilton West and Hamilton East HUMBLY SHEWETH That the said Districts are situated in the Counties of Waipa and Waikato respectively and co-uprise one coutinuous area contnining not move than Nine Square Miles and not having any two points .more than Six Miiee distant from each other. That the Boundaries of the said Pistricts respectively are The Hamilton West Township High* way District is bounded towards the North E st by the Waikato River from a stream which forms the South En stern boundary of allotment No. 242 of the Parish of Pukete to the North Eastern angle of allotment No. 24 of the Parish of Te Rapa towards the South East by allotment No. 21 of the Purish of Te Rnpa aforesaid and by allotments Nos. 25 and 26 of the snnie parish from the North Eastern Angle of allotment No. 24 to the North Western angle of allotment No 26 towards the South and South West' by the boundary of the Town Belt from the North Western ang'e of allotment No. 26 last named to tbe South Eastern angle of allotment No. 1 also of the porish of Te Rapa tbenco by nllotment No 1 last mentioned and by allotment No. 2o f the parish ot Te Rap* aforesaid to a stream at the South Eastern angle of al!o!mt>nt No. 368 of the parish of Te Rapa aforeaai.l and towards the North West by the said si ream from the South Eastern angle, of alloinie t No 368 last named to the "V\ aikalo River at the South Eastern Angle of allotment No 242 first mentioned tho place of commencement. The Area of the Hamilton West Township Highway District is about One Thousand One hundred (1,100) Acres, The Hamilton East Township Highway District is bounded on tbe N'ortb by the Southern boundary of allotments Nos 223 220 and 219 of the parish of Kirikiriroa tis3o links to the Waikato River therce by the Waikato River to the Eastern anple of allotment No 250a of the parish of Kirikiriroa aforesaid thence by the Western boundary of allotment No 254 of the said parish 730 links thence by th'e South Western boundary of allotment No 251 of the said parish 900 links thence along the Western boundary of allotments Nos 251 23 1 230 229 224 and 223 to the place of commencement. The Aeea of the Hamilton East TownHighway District is about Odq Thousand «md Twentv (1,020) Acres. The combined Abba of the above Dis* tricts is about Two Thousand On ; Hundred and Twenty (2120) Acres. That the said Districts contain a population of upwards of 1000 people. Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray that your Excellency will be graciously pleased by Proclamation to constitute tbe said Districts a Bobough under " The Municipal Corporations Act 1876. And your Petitioners As in duty bound Will ever Pray. Here follow the signatures of over one hundred and fifty Resident Householders. NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT LIBE INSURANCE.
