CHEAP MEAT AND DEAR MEAT.
Sir, — Can you inform me how it is that Auckland butchers can advertise mutton at 2i per lb for forequarters, aad 3d for l-gs, and prime roast beef 4d per lb, while we in Waikato, where much of the meat sold in Auckland is produced, pay so muoh more for ifc. Is it the higher rents and 'taxes paid by the Aackland butchers that enables them to do tnis? — I am, &c, A Father op Six.
